Introducing Finalpoint

Finalpoint is a developer-led software company co-founded by Aaron Ortbals and Jeremy Mack. After decades of building for clients, we're now building our own products.

Here's our plan:

Our focus is on building software that uses AI thoughtfully, prioritizing user-friendly experiences and strong engineering practices.

Our Approach to AI

AI is only as effective as the experience it helps create; without good UX, it becomes bad software. Language models are a tool, not a product. Low-quality generative content feels like 'slop,' drowning users in noise.

We see an opportunity to build AI products that solve real problems, focusing on user-discoverable design. AI doesn't let engineers off the hook; it demands more.

Aaron and Jeremy

For a decade, we remotely ran engineering at Postlight, from Austin and Nashville. We were remote before it was widely trusted, thanks to leaders like Rich Ziade and Paul Ford who had confidence in us from the start.

We personally interviewed thousands of engineers and helped hundreds build careers. The leadership team we built remains world-class and is still building software at the most consequential companies in the world. In addition to a US-based team, we also helped hire and train a self-sustaining team of talented developers in Beirut.

We've logged hundreds of hours of flights around the globe, building trust with clients like Goldman Sachs, the NYC MTA, Meta, Bloomberg, and Mailchimp. Our software products are in daily use by millions of people and process billions of dollars.
